Opposition to federal crackdown on legal pot states overwhelming
A new Quinnipiac University poll shows support for legalizing pot at the highest level in the history of the poll: 60% in favor vs. 34% against.
Poll respondents oppose enforcing federal anti-marijuana laws in states that have legalized recreation and medicinal marijuana by a 73% to 21% margin. An even larger margin — 76% to 18% — say marijuana should be rescheduled from Schedule 1 where the government falsely claims that marijuana has both a high potential for abuse and no medical uses.
“Marijuana has made it to the mainstream,” said Quinnipiac pollster Tim Malloy.
